Charles Lehoka attended the University of Limpopo where he obtained the degrees B. Iuris and LLB (Post Graduate). He was admitted as an Attorney in 1991. Learning through Unisa, Charles obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Pension Funds Law (Cum Laude) as well as a Certificate in Corporate Governance (Cum Laude).
Charles Lehoka has a rich and diverse legal career, spanning 34 years, 14 of which have been in legal practice. His experience span inter alia, the following fields: Executive Property Management; Insurance and Assurance Legal Advisory services; Corporate Training; Retirement Fund Governance and Management; Medical Aid Schemes governance and management; Board membership; Board Consulting.
In the course of his career and for a considerate period, Charles Lehoka had the opportunity to work in a consulting capacity with the Department of Land Affairs and Rural Development in their LRAD Programme (Land Redistribution for Agricultural Development). The Consulting engagement involved assisting various recipients of the LRAD grant to establish a Legal Entity to inter alia facilitate collective ownership and administration of the acquired land.
When some of the universities in South Africa merged, Charles Lehoka was part of the team that oversaw the amalgamation of the Retirement Funds that were attached to those universities. As CEO of a Medical Aid Scheme, Charles Lehoka oversaw the amalgamation of the Medical Aid Scheme of which he was CEO, to GEMS (Government Employees Medical Scheme). It was with these mergers mentioned above, that Charles Lehoka was exposed to and he acquired invaluable knowledge and experience on conducting Due Diligence processes.
