In 1988 Charl received the honour of serving as a magistrate three different fields, criminal court, Civil court and Children’s court and at a stage was advisor to the minister of justice. 1993-95 Charl served as an advocate in Pretoria and Kwazulu Natal, 1996 to the present has a successful practice in Hatfield, Pretoria.
