Cornelia spent almost 15 years working in both state and private health care facilities as a Registered Nurse and Clinical Facilitator. The majority of these years were spent in the critical care and emergency care units.
After completing her studies in Health Science Education, Cornelia spent almost 9 years lecturing nursing students (basic and post basic nursing) at a private nursing school in the Western Cape, where she was responsible for teaching the theoretical component, clinical accompaniment, theory to practical integration and student development and mentorship.
Having decided to use her vast experience in the medical field in pursuing a career in law, Cornelia undertook her LL.B. studies through UNISA and secured articles with DSC Attorneys in 2014 and was admitted as an attorney in 2016. Cornelia continued at DSC Attorneys as attorney in the medical negligence litigation department till September 2023, when she joined the team at Schuld Inc.
Cornelia continues to provide ethics and medical legal risks awareness training, for both nursing and medical practitioners / health care providers at various health care facilities/organisations with the view to promote quality nursing and clinical care by reducing, preventing and managing any or all adverse event.
Cornelia possesses a unique combination of skills and qualities who is passionate in serving the community and make a positive impact. She is compassionate, empathetic and have excellent communication skills. She is able to listen to her clients’ needs, provide them with the best possible legal advice while also providing them with the necessary care and support. She is also highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
