Jason joined Thomson Wilks as a Candidate Attorney in 2021 and has gained valuable experience in litigation and collections. He was admitted in early 2023 and he has remained at the firm as an associate, working hand in hand with Vaughn Harrison, one of our most senior consultant attorneys with a focus on international transactions and large scale commercial transactions. He has been involved in litigation matters drafted heads of argument and provided input to various large-scale commercial agreements including a large merger notification filing with the Competition Commission, as well as a large cash in transit agreements for the transport of cash around the country for the banking industry at large, often under extremely tight deadlines.
Jason has been involved in researching and drafting various legal opinions including opinions on crypto assets, FICA accountable institutions and impacts on events such as load shedding or grid failure on commercial agreements and whether this would be a force majeure or disaster recovery event. Furthermore, Jason has also been involved with the drafting of various interlinking agreements relating to the transport of coal from Mpumalanga to Mozambique.
