History:

Paula is presently an equity director at the firm. She attended Fort Hare University where she obtained a BA degree in 2005 and an LLB degree in 2007. She attended the East London School for Legal Practice in 2008. After completing articles in 2009 she went on to pursue a Masters of European, Economic and International Law at Saarland University, Germany. Here she was selected to represent the University at the International European Simulation Debates which were held in Antwerp, Brussels. Whilst completing her degree she completed a long-distance advanced course in Corporate Law through UNISA.

Paula was admitted and enrolled as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa on 29 April 2010. She has provided legal services to clients in diverse matters. In 2013, she was appointed as a chairperson of the South African Tax Board, which position she still holds. Since 2016 she has served on the Committee of the East London and Mdantsane Attorney's Association. She is also a member of the South African Women Lawyers Association and chairperson of the Eastern Cape Fundraising sub-committee.

In 2018, she was acknowledged for contributions made in the book - World Bank - Doing Business in South Africa 2018 (published and released in September 2018). In 2019, Paula was appointed to the Legal Practice Council’s Regional Investigation, Disciplinary as well as Fees Committees. In 2020, she trained and qualified as a mediator through the University of Cape Town.

She has given legal advice on a pro bono basis as she believes that justice should be accessible to all, especially to those members of our society who are most vulnerable. She advocates legal education and training in the form of transfer of skills to younger members of the profession and has since 2016 lectured at the School of Legal Practice. She believes in mentoring and uplifting young professionals in order for them to reach their full potential. Paula has implemented a learnership program within her firm where students and/or graduates awaiting articles can acquire job experience and increase their prospects of finding employment

In 2021, Paula was elected as a Councilor on the National Legal Practice Council of South Africa, the only Eastern Cape representative during this term of office.

Paula is also a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers specifically Tax Commission, Construction Commission; Litigation Commission and Trade Commission.

Her hobbies include golf and reading.
