Laila obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree (BComm) wherein she majored in Law and Economics, and thereafter completed her postgraduate law degree and was awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB). She has also furthered her legal qualifications, by attending many seminars on general litigation, Road Accident Fund claims, High Court advocacy and Administration of Wills and Estates. After being admitted to practice as an Attorney, she received her Right of Appearance in the High Court in 2010.
Laila completed her articles with the firm Gravett Schoeman Incorporated, and remained in their employ until 2011, after which she founded Conlon Law.
Laila specializes in High Court litigation, including municipal suits, breach of contract and property disputes, among others.
Apart from her educational achievements, Laila has been voted as one of the Top 100 Women in Business in East London, by the Border Kei Chamber of Commerce, and was a finalist in the 2015 Business Woman’s Association Achiever Awards in the category of Emerging Entrepreneur.
