Adelin is a partner in the insolvency, business rescue and restructure department in the firm. She joined the firm from ENSAfrica where she practised in their insolvency, business rescue and restructuring department for 12.5 years.
Adelin has acted for banks, private individuals, parastatals, various corporate entities as well as liquidators in assisting with debt recovery by way of sequestration, liquidation, action proceedings or applications for judgments sounding in money.
Her experience extends to both the High and Magistrates’ Courts and includes general commercial litigation in South Africa, contractual interpretation and disputes, commercial arbitrations, recoveries and National Credit Act related matters.
Adelin’s experience includes the drafting of pleadings aimed at liquidation, sequestration, debt recovery and applications to extend liquidators’ powers. She has also advised and represented creditors in launching and opposing business rescue proceedings, attending meetings of creditors, having foreign bankruptcy proceedings recognised by local courts and running enquiries in terms of the relevant insolvency laws.
