Christine is a partner in the Maritime and International Trade Law Practice of the firm. She joined Cox Yeats and was appointed as a partner in April 2023. Christine has practised as an admitted attorney in South Africa for 25 years and specialises in all aspects of litigation, insurance, insolvency, and property related matters.
She joined another leading law firm in September 2009, as an associate. In March 2000, Christine was appointed as a director of that firm and in April 2011, some 11 years later, she was appointed as head of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department, a position which she held for 12 years. Christine served as the Head of the Commercial Litigation Department and demonstrated a history of successfully litigating in various courts and in arbitrations, with a strong emphasis on outcomes- based litigation inclusive of negotiated settlements. She is skilled in all aspects of commercial litigation including insurance law, litigation in regard to commercial contracts, and property related matters.
Christine has represented a number of insurers in complex claims. She has also acted for listed companies in litigation, arbitrations, mediations and in providing advice.
