History:

With almost 25 years of experience, Pather & Pather’s Founder heads the firm’s Litigation, Commercial and Labour Law Departments. Sivi has litigated on high-profile cases in all the High Court in South Africa, the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court. Sivi is a qualified International Mediator with the London School of Mediation and a Fellow of the Arbitrators Association of South Africa. He has a passion for Alternative Dispute Resolution and has attended the Harvard Law School’s Programme on Negotiation.

Experience

Lead attorney in several reported cases in South Africa involving contracts, commercial disputes, international supply agreements and leasing, as well as various Company Law related disputes involving both shareholders and directors.
Acted as Arbitrator on several Bargaining Councils, including the Public Health & Welfare Sectoral Bargaining Council, the General Public Service Sectoral Bargaining Council and the Education Labour Relations Council.
Represents several parastatals, banks, insurers and national clients, including the Public Investment Corporation, The Industrial Development Corporation, Transnet SOC Ltd, The National Treasury; Standard Bank, Absa, FNB; Hollard; AIG; Santam, several local Municipalities and other leading privately owned businesses in SA.
Represents at least two other listed companies on the JSE. Sivi sits on several boards and executive committees of our clients’ businesses.
