Hennie started his legal career in The Department of Justice at the beginning of 1988. During his service in the Department of Justice, he was both a prosecutor and a Magistrate in the District- and Regional Divisions of the Court. Hennie joined the defence side middle of 2007, first as Advocate of the High Court, before being admitted as Attorney in 2009. During his time as Advocate and Attorney, he was involved in litigation in both the Lower Courts and the High Court, including the Labour Court.
