Franelie Swanepoel matriculated from Porterville High School and thereafter went to study at Stellenbosch. She obtained her BA LLB degree in 1985. She then went on to do her articles at Balsilles in Cape Town.

After finishing her articles she pursued her career at the same firm. In 1988 she was admitted as an Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer.

In 1997 she started her own firm, Franelie Swanepoel Inc, where she ran a successful conveyancing practice for 21 years.

She then joined forces with DTS Attorneys 2018 where she is pursuing her conveyancing career further.
