After completing my LLB degree at UKZN Pietermaritzburg cum laude I served articles at Bowmans (previously Bowman Gilfillan) in Johannesburg. Shortly after completing articles I received an opportunity to return to Pietermaritzburg to take up a position at a boutique firm specializing in large scale debt collection. In addition to this the firm was in the business of purchasing books from the various finance houses and collecting it for their own benefit. Realising that this was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my legal career I then joined Hay and Scott Attorneys in 2014. Hay and Scott’s varied practice areas have allowed me to gain experience and exposure in a wide range of areas of law. Further to this, it has also enabled me to hone my commercial skills, an area that I particularly enjoy, and this allows me to serve a wide range of clients whilst focusing the majority of my time and energy on the practice of general commercial advice and contract drafting.
