Christie Viviers completed his studies at the University of Port Elizabeth in 1979 and spent two years of national service in the SA Defence Force as a legal officer. He was employed by the Department of Justice until 1988 where he progressed to senior state advocate in the office of the Director for Public Prosecutions in Cape Town. He joined Faure & Faure to complete his articles in 1990 and became a Director of the firm in 1991. Christie specialises in criminal law, family law and civil litigation in the Magistrate’s Court and High Court. He also carries out legal work in the Criminal Court, Magistrate’s Court, Regional Court and High Court. He is often involved in high profile criminal cases.
Christie is an active member of the Boland community – for the past 23 years he has been on the board of Sunfield Home in Wellington, a home for mentally challenged adults. He has also served as the Chairman of Sunfield Home for 12 years. He was the President of the Paarl Golf Club until recently, and also served as Chairman and Director of the board at the Club.
