Thenjiwe Vilakazi is a Director in GMI’s Public Law and Commercial Litigation Department. She joined the firm as a Candidate Attorney in 2003. During her candidacy, she gained practical experience in civil litigation in both the High and Magistrates’ Courts. Thenjiwe was admitted as an Attorney in 2005, and appointed as a Senior Associate in the department in 2007.
In addition to her litigation experience, she has attended to alternative dispute resolution and has also assisted in matters concerning compliance, Administrative Law, legislative drafting and disciplinary hearings involving medical practitioners.
Representing clients in a variety of adjudications, arbitrations, high court litigation proceedings and consumer tribunals.
Advising various clients on the resolution of disputes which have as their subject matter provisions in the JBCC and NEC3 suites of contracts.
