Martin is a director in the third party department and specialises in personal injury claims (including claims against the Road Accident Fund) as well as medical negligence claims. He has 35 years’ experience in the handling of third party claims against the Road Accident Fund. He is also responsible for the recovery of accident related medical costs on behalf of designated medical aid schemes.
He commenced his career as a clerk at the MVA Fund in Pretoria in 1981 and became a manager at an insurance company in 1987, after he had obtained his BA (Law) degree through UNISA. From 1987 until 1999 he held various managerial positions at insurance companies as well as the Road Accident Fund. In 2001 he joined Van Velden-Duffey Incorporated as an article clerk and studied part time for his LLB degree, whilst doing his articles. He was admitted as an attorney in 2009.
With 35 years’ experience in personal injury claims, Martin is a specialist in his field and has obtained exceptional results for his clients, particularly those employed in the mining sector.
