Hugh graduated with a BA LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1985 and has been in practice for the past 39 years. Hugh has had extensive experience in private practice in the spheres of: Commercial law and commercial litigation in both the Magistrates Court and High Court; Property law, landlord tenant law and lease agreements; The administration of deceased estates, ante nuptial contracts, wills and trusts; Family law with particular expertise in divorce litigation and mediation. Hugh is an Associate Member of the Association of Arbitrators, and is also a qualified mediator, having qualified with an internationally recognized accreditation through the London School of Mediation. He is a mediator in the areas of divorce, workplace and commercial disputes. Hugh has been involved in corporate training for a number of years and runs workshops for clients at their premises demystifying the legal process and the costs involved in litigation, with a particular focus on landlord-tenant law and workshops for property brokers dealing with issues regarding mandates and establishing “effective cause” in property transactions
