Candice has over 17 years of family law experience and specialises in all matters pertaining to divorce, custody, parental rights and responsibilities, access or contact, children’s rights, antenuptial contracts, maintenance enquiries, domestic violence applications, harassment applications, civil unions, domestic partnerships, international child abduction and the Hague Convention, as well as all aspects of the Children’s Act. She is passionate about children’s rights and has completed a certificate course on the Children’s Act at the University of Pretoria with Professor Ann Skelton who heads up the Centre for Child Law in Pretoria.
Candice also deals with general civil litigation in the Magistrate’s and High Court. She currently sits as a committee member on KZN Family Law Forum, in her capacity as High Court Liaison.
Mediation Experience
Candice has received extensive training in family law mediation through SAAM, the South African Association of Accredited Mediators. Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution that has become mandatory in certain family related matters in our courts’ division.
Candice is also qualified in drafting parental plans, parental rights and responsibilities agreements, surrogacy agreements, separation agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in mediations.
