Johnny is a patent partner in the Johannesburg office of Adams & Adams. He has a BSc Eng (Electrical) from Wits University, and an LLB from UNISA. He is involved in all aspects of patent, design and copyright law, including patent drafting, prosecution and litigation, as well as most commercial aspects of intellectual property law. He specialises in telecommunications and computer-implemented inventions, and advises clients on practical and cost-effective IP strategies. He is a fellow and past president of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL), and is a council member of the South African group of International Association of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). Johnny was for many years a lecturer and examiner for the “Drafting of Patent Specifications” examination in South Africa.
