Born on the 5th of April 1964, in Koffiefontein, Free State. Matriculated at Harrismith High School in 1982. Started working at the Harrismith Magistrates Offices and achieved the degree B. luris (UNISA) in 1985. Appointed as Public Prosecutor in the same year. Was appointed as Regional Public Prosecutor in 1988 (Bethlehem/Qwa-Qwa region). Commenced working as Magistrate in Kroonstad, 1989.
Obtained the Diploma Legum in 1992 and LL.B in 1993, both through UNISA. Acted as Candidate Attorney from 1993 up to 1994 at the Firm: Grimbeek De Hart & Van Rooyen (Kroonstad). Was appointed Partner in 1994 and later Director when the Firm became a Company.
Established the Firm: Kruger Basson Inc. in Kroonstad during 2001. Said Firm became: De Hart Kruger Basson & Schoeman Inc. Acted as Director up to September 2006. Joined Rauch/Gertenbach Inc. (Mossel Bay) in the same year. Received Directorship in May 2007.
Has experience in a wide variety of litigation, with personal injury- and legal liability claims as specialist field. Sets up claims against the Road Accident Fund, State institutions such as the Minister of Safety and Security (Police); the Department of Health; Municipalities and other large institutions like Transnet and Shopping Malls. Handle criminal incidents, as well as civil cases like divorce proceedings and debt collecting and recently added Deceased Estates as a specialist field. Currently busy completing the degree LLM in Family Law at Unisa.
Writer of legal articles published by the Mossel Bay Advertiser. Presents several courses on the National Credit Act and aspects touching on the legislation regarding the Road Accident Fund.
