Andrew is an experienced lawyer having practiced for over 30 years. He has been the Head of the Litigation Division at Shepstone and Wylie for the last 20 years. He is principally a commercial dispute lawyer practicing and appearing in arbitration and court forums. He has specialized in construction and engineering disputes where he has represented mainly employers being corporate and government bodies dealing mainly with disputes under a variety of contracts such as GCC, JBCC or NEC contacts.
He also specialises in preparing and submitting documents and appearing in adjudications and/or mediation in the construction and building fields. Arising from this Andrew has also dealt with a number of high-profile tender and judicial review cases including in the High Court such as King Shaka Airport where he successfully represented ACSA in a judicial review of the appointment of the main contractor. Andrew has also practiced in the fields of banking law, credit law, insolvency law and business rescue where he principally represents banks and creditors in their disputes and claims. He holds a diploma in insolvency law and in business rescue and has been involved in all of the recent high-profile business rescue matters in KZN.
