Derek Wright

Derek was admitted as an attorney in 1990. He heads the firm's litigation department and has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial litigation.

In his experience, a good litigator requires meticulous preparation and an eye for the finest detail. His approach is to leave nothing to chance in order to effect the best possible outcome.

In addition, Derek runs the commercial law department, dealing with all legal business requirements. During his career, he has assisted many businesses to grow from small entities into sound and profitable companies built on strong legal foundations.

Derek also has a keen interest and extensive knowledge of sports law. He is currently one of the few sports law practitioners in KwaZulu-Natal and has represented international sportsmen and sports agencies.

Derek has also served as a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court and is a past Chairman and Secretary of the Pinetown Legal Circle. Derek is a keen golfer and mountain biker.
