Description:

The firm practises only in the realm of Family Law.  And does this with skill, adopting a results driven approach.

Karen is passionate about Family Law and is passionate about the preservation of rights of children or a spouse or a partner in a relationship, her aim being the upliftment of the individual.  Karen's passion is ingrained in the firm, which is a  specialist in its field, and distinguishes itself in its original and unique approach and methods of achieving dispute resolution.  The firm is passionate about preserving its client's rights.  And does this expertly.

The mission of the firm is the  recognition of the marginalized, the empowerment of the browbeaten, and the emancipation of the suppressed.  Accomplished attorneys, Karen and Kerissa, focus on the needs and means of the individual in every dispute and are skilled and dedicated in designing and providing a unique and strategically structured tailor-made solution to suit each litigant’s dispute.

Any dispute and litigation creates conflict, insecurity, trepidation and panic of varying intensity.  The team and support staff are aware that no two disputes are the same, understand the emotional turmoil that a litigant faces, and are aware that every litigant has a different threshold when faced with dispute.  Karen and Kerissa know and understand that some of us might be filled with terror and unease when counting down to a day in Court.  Bearing this in mind, the team supports and guides it's client through the legal process to achieve enforcement of their rights.

The team utilizes a hands on and personalized approach and first aims at achieving a friendly out of court settlement, to reduce the financial or emotional cost of litigation, with enforcement of a client’s rights as conviction and yard stick of settlement.  Where settlement by way of undertaking or mediation or arbitration is not possible, and one must by necessity resort to the Courts, the team is equipped and well versed at considering, strategically creating, obtaining and completing a tailor-made solution to all dispute, utilizing differing approaches, and calling on experts from the firm’s readily accessible panel of experts, to guide and apprise the Judiciary in matters of non- law conflict.

The team are knowledgeable, experienced and understanding and insist on the recognition and upholding of a litigant’s legal rights.  We all have rights, and are entitled to our rights being enforced. It is essential to strike a perfect and healthy balance between rights and duties in every relationship, be it in the family unit or in the workplace or in a corporate environment. With every duty, there must be a corresponding right to prevent a burdensome existence. Nobody is above the Law and each one of us is accountable for our actions and our inactions.  There must be equality before the Law, and there must be Justice, or else there is no law.
